In 1998, Barrett Marketing was hired to help Compaq Computer Corporation create a corporate branding campaign which communicated the company strategy after the acquisition's of Digital Equipment Corporation and Tandem, drive leads for the Small & Medium Business (SMB) sales force and create awareness of Compaq Direct.

Working with Ziff Davis Publishing we were able to help Compaq create a corporate advertising campaign targeting Fortune 1000 CXO's to communicate the company's strategy and vision. We were able to work with ZDNet to create a content rich custom microsite that provided valuable information and advice to small business operators while producing leads for Compaq which were, in turn, distributed to the company's network of resellers.

The results of the campaign included 200,000+ leads for the reseller network, $10+ million in incremental sales for Compaq Direct and increased unaided awareness of the company and its strategy amongst CXO's.
